I’d love to invite you to the Culinary Canvas - a fun-filled weekend workshop in my studio, where we’ll dive into the art of food illustration with watercolor! Whether you're an aspiring artist, a food enthusiast, or someone looking to blend the beauty of watercolor with the creativity of cooking, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore the world of food through art and paint.
We’ll enjoy a weekend of fun-filled yummy deliciousness while learning sketching and watercolor techniques that can be used for any subject and in any medium. We’ll guide you through designing a recipe card featuring your artwork teaching you how to properly write a recipe, lay out your composition, and finish with a personalized recipe book filled with your own creations. It promises to be a weekend packed with creativity, food talk, and plenty of laughs as we make some truly tasty art together!
From mastering essential watercolor techniques to perfecting the art of writing a recipe, you’ll gain a strong foundation in visual storytelling. Not only will we write, design, and illustrate a beautiful recipe card, but we’ll also create a recipe notebook where you can organize and save all your future creations—and share them with others!
Watercolor in Procreate
Learn this to paint watercolor using the digital app Procreate. This is a fun and great way to learn the Procreate app while expanding your painting skills. I will teach you the basics of Procreate and show you how to use special digital watercolor brushes and techniques to create a colorful painting. No knowledge of Procreate necessary so if you have been wanting to learn this app this is a great course for you!
You will need an iPad, an Apple pencil of other type of stylist and a desire to learn.
If you’ve never created artwork digitally then this is a great class to learn. Creating artwork digitally is a great way to create while you are traveling and not having to carry a lot of supplies. It’s also a great way to plan your next painting without having to waste all your supplies while figuring it out.
You will find it will become quite addictive!

Expressive Watercolors
Do you feel intimidated by watercolor? Do you feel this is medium that you will challenge you and you might fail? You are not alone but I am here to tell you that you really can overcome this challenge and enjoy creating magical art with watercolors. This class starts at the very beginning by helping you understand the supplies you will need, the difference in all the paints and papers as well as including lots of exercises to practice. By practicing these exercises you will have no fear in succeeding in learning how watercolor and will have an appetite to learn more! I will help you understand the magic that can be created while telling your very own story. By that, I mean how you want to paint your own interpretation of a flower, or leaf, or animal - the sky’s the limit once you understand a few simple techniques!
