Learning to tell your story through watercolor
Do you feel intimidated by watercolor? Do you feel this is medium that you will challenge you and you might fail? You are not alone but I am here to tell you that you really can overcome this challenge and enjoy creating magical art with watercolors. This class starts at the very beginning by helping you understand the supplies you will need, the difference in all the paints and papers as well as including lots of exercises to practice. By practicing these exercises you will have no fear in succeeding in learning how watercolor and will have an appetite to learn more! I will help you understand the magic that can be created while telling your very own story. By that, I mean how you want to paint your own interpretation of a flower, or leaf, or animal - the sky’s the limit once you understand a few simple techniques!
In this workshop you will receive:
handouts that include information about supplies, color, exercises sheets to practice on and simple finished sketches for you to try our painting.
a palette with professional watercolors
watercolor techniques to enhance your painting.
simple subjects to paint
questionnaires to help you determine why you are drawn to certain subjects and how to visualize these feelings.
and more!
In this workshop we will be focusing on:
* understanding all the supplies available and when you should purchase and when you can say no.
* exercise sheets for you to practice applying your paints in various techniques
* gaining a better understanding of color and the important role it plays in choosing your own color palette
* why you don’t have to know how to draw to paint!
This class is a beginner class so if you have never tried painting with watercolors or just want to improve on your skills with more practice in a fun and inspiring environment than please join us!
Cost is $55.00 per person and will include a light lunch - this is a 5 hour class so we will need to stay full and hydrated while we are creating!
